Sunday Toasted Bread

On Sunday’s we would have a late lazy breakfast out on the patio. Mum and I would make toasted cheese with variations for the individual peculiarities of the family members.
The basic recipe was this:
Ingredients:

Nice plain sliced bread (not toasted first, but you could try this as a variation)
Butter
Grated Cheese - lots
Hot English Mustard (of course [...]

Curried banana salad

This was a dish we always had as a kind of a salad.
Ingredients:

bananas (of course!)
lemon, lime or orange juice - enough to cover the bananas
grape vinegar - a dash
oil - a dash
mayonnaise or plain yoghurt - several large dollops
curry powder - small spoon or two
sugar (small amount to taste)

Optional (can change the salad considerably)

Anna-marie’s Banana Loaf

Vietnamese Banana Bread

Vietnam is one of the few south east asian countries where you can regularly get bread. This is a kind of baguette introduced during the colonisation of vietnam by the French.
At one lovely little cafe near Hanoi we were very excited to also see Banana Bread on the list and so ordered it.
